A reminder that Trans and Trans Ally groups will be meeting tonight at 5pm!
HAPPY NATIONAL COMING OUT DAY!!! Be out and about and proud! Be you, boo. Be you.
Surveys are fun! Especially if said survey is the first ever health assessment done in Santa Clara County for LGBT folks! It’s sponsored by the Santa Clara Public Health Department and local LGBT community leaders. The county cares! Let them know what’s up.
The first 100 youth (ages 13-17) respondents will receive $5 Starbucks gift cards, and you have until October 23rd! Find the survey here: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/1358009/LGBTQ-Youth.
The first 500 adult (18+) respondents will receive $5 Amazon gift cards, and you have until October 11th! Find this survey here: http://www.surveygizmo.com/s3/1333810/scclgbt
Next Wednesday (10/9 @ 7:30pm) the San Jose Earthquakes are hosting an LGBT Night! Ticket sales will benefit The LGBTQ Youth Space, Outlet, San Jose Pride, and the LGBT Resource Center at San Jose State. Come out and show your support for a local team and some awesome local organizations!
These are the companions to the sexuality cards I created a few weeks ago: GENDER BUSINESS CARDS.
The opposite side to these cards are pronoun based, like the final image. I have pronoun sets of:
These pronoun set will be uploaded in a separate post since tumblr only allows for 10 images per photoset.
To get the whole “business card experience,” print your two selected cards double-sided. Cut them out, and bam. You’re in business. (I’m so sorry for the pun. It was necessary.)
Thank you to everyone in the trans*, genderqueer, and beyond communities for teaching me and helping me on my journey! Your help was greatly appreciated, and these would have never been possible without the people who contacted me and gave me advice and guidance. You guys rock!
It’s October already?! HAPPY LGBT HISTORY MONTH, Y’ALL!!! Let’s celebrate LGBT history! “In 1994, Rodney Wilson, a Missouri high school teacher believed a month should be dedicated to the celebration and teaching of gay and lesbian history, and gathered other teachers and community leaders together. The LGBT community is the only community worldwide that is not taught its history at home, in public schools, or in religious institutions.” LGBT History Month provides role models, build community, and teaches about the extraordinary national and international contributions through a civil rights lens. Learn more about the history and significance of LGBT month here.
